TASTE OF CARMEL
Monterey’s annual Taste of Carmel is exactly what it sounds like: a taste of the best food and beverages offered in Monterey County! This year, Taste of Carmel is on Oct 3 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and the theme is “Wild Wild Fest” (think western). Over 30 local restaurants, wineries and breweries will set up shop at the Carmel Mission, located on Rio Road in Carmel, CA. Here is a complete list of this year’s participating businesses. Expect unlimited delicious bites and sips, live music and plenty of outdoor seating. General admission tickets are $105, while VIP tickets are $150.
BUTTERFLY DAYS IN PACIFIC GROVE
The annual Butterfly Days weekend returns to downtown Pacific Grove this Oct 4 – Oct 6, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. It’s a butterfly-themed event featuring lots of live music, local art, refreshments and more. Special events happening throughout the weekend include a Butterfly Parade and Bazaar, community potluck picnic and children’s butterfly garden. The event is free to attend and sponsored by the Pacific Grove Heritage Society. The Heritage Society also offers a map for visitors to take the Historic Walking Tour, which includes several historic homes.
HALLOWEEN ON THE WHARF
Celebrate Halloween on Monterey’s ever-popular Old Fisherman’s Wharf this Oct 31 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The annual Halloween on the Wharf: Trick or Treat by the Bay is a family-friendly event filled with lots of costumes, candy and Halloween characters. Visitors are encouraged to dress in costume (there’s a special costume contest at 6 p.m.) and trick or treat among participating merchants along the Wharf.
